Monarch Butterflies are Migrating Through Kansas City - You Can Help Them!

It is that time of the year to see our beloved monarch butterflies migrating through Kansas City. Fall is the migrating season as monarchs float through the air from Canada to Mexico. 



Although monarchs are not considered federally protected, they are internationally endangered due to their decreasing populations and habit loss. 

If you would like to help preserve the existence of monarch butterflies, experts recommend planting native plants that monarchs depend on.

 So what do Caterpillars depend on?



The plant that monarch caterpillars depend on solely for hosting is milkweed. Although milkweed is unsafe for most animals and insects, it is essential for monarchs during breeding and equipping their defensive capabilities.
